Text on a photo lives or dies on legibility. Plain white type over a busy background is unreadable, which is why every good thumbnail uses an outline, a shadow, or both. Those are exactly the controls most simple tools omit.

Here you get the full set: font family, size, weight, alignment, colour, opacity, outline colour and width, drop shadow, letter spacing and rotation. Layers stay editable until you flatten them, so you can reposition and re-word without starting again.
