Your image stays loaded in the editor. Pick the next action and carry on.

WebP is what modern websites serve, which is why images saved from the web so often arrive as .webp — and why older software, some printers and a few social platforms then refuse to open them.

Converting to JPEG solves that immediately. WebP files may carry transparency, so if yours does, decide which colour should replace it; JPEG cannot store an alpha channel.

What you get

  • Opens everywhere

JPEG is the most widely supported image format there is. Nothing is going to reject it.

  • Transparency handled explicitly

You pick the flatten colour instead of discovering black edges after the fact.

  • Quality under your control

A quality slider rather than a fixed setting chosen for you.

  • Local decoding

Your browser already has a WebP decoder. The conversion uses it — no server round trip.

How it works

  1. 1

    Load the WebP

Decoded by the browser’s native WebP support, alpha channel and all.

  2. 2

    Set quality and background

Choose the JPEG quality, and a background colour if the source has transparency.

  3. 3

    Download the JPG

A standard JPEG, ready for any application.
