About KaiConvert

A universal media workspace that happens to have a lot of front doors.

The idea

Most online image tools are a form around a server. You upload, wait, download, and if you want to do a second thing you upload again. KaiConvert inverts that: your file is decoded into a canvas on your own machine, every tool operates on that canvas, and the only thing that ever leaves the page is the file you deliberately download.

One editor, many entrances

The individual tool pages are not separate applications. Each one boots the same universal editor with a different panel already open. That is why you can arrive from a search for "resize image", resize it, then crop, compress and add text without loading the file again.

Three processing tiers, always labelled

Local tools run entirely in your browser using Canvas, Web Workers and native codecs. Local AI is planned to run inference on your device with ONNX Runtime Web and WebGPU. Cloud AI covers generative work no browser can do. Every tool carries a badge saying which tier it belongs to, and the distinction is never blurred.

What we do not do

We do not ship features that pretend to work. A tool that has no implementation says so and processes nothing. A conversion your browser cannot perform reports that instead of silently uploading your file. Planned AI tools are excluded from search indexing entirely until they actually function.

Where it is going

Images first, thoroughly. The architecture already models video, audio, documents and archives as media kinds, and the tool registry, routing and content system are built to carry hundreds of tools across dozens of languages without duplicating a single page component.
