Text on a photo lives or dies on legibility. Plain white type over a busy background is unreadable, which is why every good thumbnail uses an outline, a shadow, or both. Those are exactly the controls most simple tools omit.

Here you get the full set: font family, size, weight, alignment, colour, opacity, outline colour and width, drop shadow, letter spacing and rotation. Layers stay editable until you flatten them, so you can reposition and re-word without starting again.

What you get

  • Controls that make text readable

Outline and drop shadow are first-class settings, not afterthoughts. They are what keeps type legible over a photograph.

  • Editable layers

Each text block is its own layer. Select it, change the wording, move it, restyle it — right up until you flatten.

  • Web-safe font stacks

Fonts are rendered by your own system, so what you see on the canvas is exactly what gets exported.

  • Shapes too

Add rectangles and ellipses as backing plates behind text — the standard fix for a background that is too busy.

How it works

  1. 1

Load your image and add a text layer

The layer appears centred on the canvas with sensible defaults you can immediately edit.

  2. 2

    Style it

Set the font, size, weight and colour, then add an outline or shadow if the background needs it. Drag on the canvas to reposition.

  3. 3

    Flatten and export

Applying the layers draws them into the image at full resolution, then you export as PNG, JPEG or WebP.
