A square crop is the most requested aspect ratio on the web: profile pictures, feed posts, marketplace listings and album art all want 1:1. The question is never whether to make it square, but what to do with the parts that no longer fit.
There are only two honest answers. Crop to fill keeps the image edge-to-edge and trims the long sides, which is right when the subject is centred. Pad to fit keeps everything and adds bars in a colour you choose, which is right when nothing can be cut — a product shot, a full-body photo, a piece of artwork.
What you get
Crop to fill or pad to fit
Two clearly different behaviours, both offered explicitly, so the result is never a surprise.
Never distorted
The image is cropped or padded, never stretched. Faces and products keep their proportions.
Choose the padding colour
White for marketplaces, black for cinematic looks, or any colour that matches your brand.
Standard 1080 × 1080 output
The default matches what Instagram, Facebook and most marketplaces expect, and you can change it.
How it works
- 1
Load your photo
The editor opens with a 1080 × 1080 canvas already configured.
- 2
Choose fill or fit
Fill crops the overflow; fit keeps everything and pads the gaps with your chosen colour.
- 3
Export
Download the square image as PNG, JPEG or WebP.
